Hey, I'm Kaif.

I am an AI/ML Researcher and Engineer working in machine learning, deep learning and large language models. My work involves developing and evaluating models and building AI systems, with interests in model efficiency, language technologies and human-computer interaction. Currently, I am part of a joint research project between University College London (UCL), AIIMS and IIT Delhi, where I work with clinicians and researchers on AI-assisted digitisation of dental records.
During my undergraduate, I interned with Prof. Prabhat Barnwal at Michigan State University, building a peer knowledge exchange platform for government officers in Punjab. I also worked with Prof. Aaditya Dar on two separate projects, first cleaning and standardizing government asset declaration records, then building a vision-language pipeline to extract data from scanned government affidavits.
Outside of research, I play chess and do photography.
